Our yummy food!

All our food is home made in the house and sourced from only the best ingredients, free range and organic wherever possible.



The Little School Room has menus that are adapted depending on what stage of weaning your child is at. For example-babies just being weaned may only have one meal a day, such as a vegetable puree with baby rice, then slowly they will build up to having three meals a day.

As they get older the textures of the food becomes coarser, teaching them to chew. Finger foods are then introduced, and eventually they will be eating the same meals as the older children.

Breakfast: This will consist of an array of organic cereals, as well as fresh fruit juices, yoghurts, fruit, toast and toppings, porridge, eggs etc. An example of a two-week menu:

Lunch: In the warmer months this consists of a buffet, allowing the children to explore and try different tastes. Usually it will contain a huge variety of various fruits, vegetables, various sandwiches with unlimited filings from marmite to hummus, and always something savoury, such as sole goujons, homemade pizza, sausages etc.

An example of a two-week buffet lunch selection: Cherry tomatoes, Sliced cucumber, Raisins, Dried fruits, Fresh fruit, Cheese, Crackers (plain or with toppings), Rice cakes, Cereal bars, Flapjacks, Yoghurt, Plain crisps, Croissants etc.

High Tea: a huge nutritional variety is on offer here too and again all home made, consisting of warm dishes such as spaghetti bolognaise, roast chicken with new potatoes and vegetables, fajitas, shepherds pie with fresh peas etc A weekly menu will always be on display in each classroom, and your child’s level of consumption noted!

Your child will never be forced to eat anything that they do not want but gentle encourage to try different tastes will always be on hand, our staff join the children for lunch to help encourage the correct use of utensils and social etiquette! The classroom will sit and eat together, and quite often the children will encourage each other too, if your child’s friend is happily tucking into broccoli, they will usually try it too!

All allergies and vegetarians are catered for as well.
